“Be grateful for what you already have while you pursue your goals.
If you aren’t grateful for what you already have, what makes you think you would be happy with more.”
― Roy T. Bennett,
Hello and happy Tuesday Friends, I hope you enjoyed your Holiday( for those in Kenya). It’s been a while since I published an article here and I am grateful that I am able to do so today. As you may have noticed, my taking stock post is coming up late. This has been quite a tough month for me but Better late than never.
I have been unwell for the most part( about two weeks or so). I lacked the energy to do stuff that i like to do, except the basics like work , eat and find something to eat. But I haven’t had an entire dull month. I traveled upcountry to visit my folks. I always look forward to travel back home when I am on leave. I had an amazing time with my parents, siblings and a few friends I met up with. I have since regained my health and I am grateful for the gift of health, life, family and friends.
One lesson I learnt this month is,it is important to have friends and know who will be there for you when things go south . So take care of the people you love and people who have always been there for you.
“Life is about accepting the challenges along the way, choosing to keep moving forward, and savoring the journey.”
― Roy T. Bennett,
Reading; Rich dad, poor dad by Robert Kiyosaki. I am loving the insights I am gaining from this book. It’s teaching me about money and the things you never learn about money in a classroom. I am also reading, The Moon also sets by Osi Ogbu. It is my kid sisters favourite now, and I want to understand why she loves this book. Also, I am reading The Subtle Ar of not giving a F***ck by Mark Manson. I never finished reading The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy. I am multitasking and I know this means I am going to take time to finish all these books. And that’s fine. Speaking of reading, I would love to join a book club.
Drinking: Delmonte Apple juice right now and water most of the time because I need to stay hydrated.
Enjoying: The every moment of my life. I do it intentionally.
Waiting; Patiently for God to bless us with something I do not want to write about yet.
Loving: The fact that I am figuring what I want and working towards achieving it. Taking little steps while enjoying the journey.
Wearing: Gray pants, sky blue sleeves top, and a black sweater and red lipstick.
Cooking: My main dishes include rice and green grams or ugali eggs and kale. Thinking about what I have to prepare for dinner exhausts me! And i have nothing to write home about my culinary skills. Hehe. But I do know how to prepare delicious meals. Only when i feel like it.
Hoping: That this year will end with me accomplishing at least 40% of what I wanted to accomplish by end of year.
Playing: a little last weekend. Except that I spend my weekend indoors dancing ,listening to music and binge watching. If you told me seven years ago that one can be alone and still have fun and be happy, i would laugh at you!!
Listening: to nothing right now because I am easily distracted.
Watching; In contempt series. Sometimes, When I am day dreaming, I envision myself as a lawyer. I think I love the prestige that coemes with being called a lawyer but I don’t think that I am willing to go through the trouble and hard work of becoming one. However, I do love what i do right now. This series chas kept me glued on my bed… because I love to watch while lying in bed.
Needing: A vacation ,but I have not taken time to plan and execute. I would love to go for a group vacations, anyone whose done that? I need tips.
Wanting: To make a few changes here and there. I will let you know once I am done.
Marvelling: at my old photos. Photos I took ages ago. I am grateful for this far that i have come.
“Start each day with a positive thought and a grateful heart.”
