TAKING STOCK MAY 2018

April was my  best month this year. Towards the end of last month I traveled upcountry to see my folks.

There were two functions on the same day. Dads retirement function where his former colleagues paid him a visit at his retirement home to thank him for retiring honorably and for the impact he made throughout his career.   My niece Elsie was also  having her  birthday party which came early because schools were opening that Monday. Everyone was in attendance; my parents, my siblings, a few relatives , in laws and dads friends/colleagues. It was a fruitful day. We felt so much love. That was a splendid way to end my month and now i’m already envisioning how this month will be. I look forward to a month full of love, peace, adventure and positive vibes.

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. Maya Angelou

Now on my taking stock series;

Drinking black tea with eggs and ground nuts( Do not question my choice of food guys….it was so yummy.)

Appreciating the gift of family and friends. This month I  have felt that love from family and friends. From receiving gifts from my sisters, my brother offering to pick me up when I came home, my colleagues are  awesome, and I received random calls from old friends. It really feels good to be loved, appreciated in small and big ways with the people I interact with often and this is why I am so thankful for each one of them.

Deciding on how to keep myself warm during this wet season. I was rained on the entire week last week and I almost caught cold. Now I will have to make wise decisions on what to wear before stepping out.

Thinking about meal choices that I ought to make to ensure I reduce heart burns, acidity and bloating. This has been a struggle.  Do you have any suggestions? Food choices that will not spike acidity? Thank you in advance.

Listening to Fally Ipupas Originale and Eloko Oyo. There is something about his songs that make me want to listen and dance to his music.

Reading a novel by Barbara Taylor Bradford called ‘To be the Best”, and so far so good.

Writing notes that will one day become a masterpiece. Thank you Geoffrey for encouraging me to write a book.

Wanting to have a new life  experience. I would love to try out zip lining, bungee jumping, camping, hiking…. connections please..and I would appreciate it if the package is also pocket friendly.

Making a promise to myself that I will try to eat clean this month. Less carbs and sugar, more vegetables and water.

Wishing that I could stay committed to eating healthy and being physically fit.

Celebrating my dad. I am in awe of him. You should have seen the people-( his former colleagues) who flocked our home to appreciate him for retiring honorably. The respect and love I saw from his colleagues was beyond comprehension.

Loving this deep conversation that i’m having with this new friend of mine. Also, i’m loving this peach skater dress that I  got from Toi market.

Feeling a surge of positive energy through my body…..Pure bliss.

Treating myself to a warm cup of green tea to stay hydrated .

Waiting for my breakthrough. I have a feeling it will be sooner.

Dreaming of that  day that i will be living to my fullest potential , loving my life and having everything that I dream of. This is more like visualizing.

Enjoying the peace and tranquility that is my life right now.

Grateful for the gift of life, health, family, friendships, provision, protection, career and so much more.

Thinking of making a few changes in my life like getting rid of stuff I no longer use to create space for new stuff. Creating room in my life, career, house or friendships calls for getting rid of stuff that no longer bring value in my life.

Learning about this app i recently downloaded on my phone that’s meant to track my  daily expenditure and keep my finances in check. Its called Andro money, its an expense tracker. Do you track your expenses?

Hoping the rains will slow down this week.

Embracing the person i am.

Noticing how radiant I look. It must be the new hairstyle.

Watching Dynasty season one. I am already looking out for season two. I can’t remember the last time I was glued to a series like this.

Pondering on getting decor for my house. I want it to feel warm .

Needing a new handbag, new bed covers and new shoes. I will not be having any flat shoes left after this rain is done wrecking havoc in our streets.

Following African dress designs on Facebook.

Disliking sodas and juices. I tried cutting back on them and now when I have them I don’t like them. I feel like they have so much sugar.

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices – today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it. Kevyn Aucoin

That’s all guys. I am looking forward to a warmer month full of happiness , joy , peace and growth.
